A stable electrical power supply is a national strategic resource which lays the foundation for economic growth. As our daily activities become increasingly electrified, our power distribution systems are evolving to include renewable energy sources, energy storage systems and smart grids.
Mastering the design fundamentals, understanding the relevant Codes of Practice and building hands-on confidence are key elements to successfully meet today’s demands and prepare yourself for future changes in the power engineering field.
Learning Outcomes
Gain technical knowledge and skills for testing and commissioning as well as safe operation and maintenance of power distribution systems. You will also acquire basics in the design of electrical distribution systems for commercial and industrial installations. Level up with the right project management methodology to successfully execute your projects as a team.

You are required to complete 2 post-diploma certificates within 2-year validity period to be awarded the Specialist Diploma qualification.
Entry Requirements
A local Polytechnic (Diploma in Electrical Engineering)

Any local Polytechnic Engineering Diploma with major in power engineering.

Other requirements: No severe vision deficiency.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)_x000D_
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
