Loss of vision has a significant impact on well-being, As a trained optometrist, your role in vision care services provides you with a unique opportunity to lead the way in your community and improve access to eye care with the aim of promoting healthy vision.

Learning Outcomes

This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge in assessing visual impairment and prescribing low vision aids, detecting and managing ocular disorders in a community setting, and adopting the different strategies for refractive correction and myopia-related complications.

This Work-Study Post-Diploma (WSP) is designed to give fresh Polytechnic graduates a career head-start in Community Optometric Practice. This 12-month programme consists of 2 Post-Diploma Certificates (PDC), including on-the-job training with eye centres. Successful graduates may be eligible for 40 CPE points.

Entry Requirements

Applicants with any of the following qualifications are invited to apply for the course:

For application of *Work-Study Programme and **Non Work-Study Programme, candidates need to meet the following criteria:_x000D_
(a) Registered optometrists with valid practicing certificates recognised by OOB._x000D_
(b) Have completed a Diploma in Optometry awarded by either Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), Singapore Polytechnic (SP), or Parkway College._x000D_

For Non Work-Study Programme (SDCO), candidates are required to have completed pre-registration training and be fully registered with OOB._x000D_

For Work-Study Programme (SDCO), candidates are required to satisfy the entry requirements specified by SSG._x000D_
