In today’s environmental climate, the responsibility of the facilities management sector goes beyond the maintenance, operations and upkeep of buildings and assets. Its role now significantly includes ensuring environmental sustainability while providing a conducive and comfortable space for its occupants to live, work and rest.

Learning Outcomes

Build your future with knowledge in applied property management from building services management, fire safety management, green building management, to workplace health and risk management. This course is suitable for diploma graduates who are pursuing careers in the facilities management sector and are involved in managing the business services and technical operations of commercial, residential and industrial premises.

Post-Diploma Certificate in Facilities Management
Module
Applied Property Management
Introduces property management skills including management and maintenance of properties. It also covers the concept of strata titles, management of strata-titled properties with reference to Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act (BMSMA).
Module
Building Services Management
Provides the management and operation of all the engineering systems that are installed in the built environment with emphasis on environmental sustainability and optimizing cost-effectiveness.
Module
Fire Safety Management
Provides the knowledge on the roles of Fire Safety Manager such as management of evacuation procedures, casualty management and case studies.
Post-Diploma Certificate in Built Environment Management
Module
Green Building Management
Provides knowledge in green building features and design strategies which includes study of Green Mark Schemes and the application of sustainable green technologies.
Module
Workplace Health & Risk Management
Focuses on workplace safety, hazards and risk management for different organisations and physical environment.
Module
Facilities Management Practice
Gives participants an opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge on a case study project designed by the lecturer and prepare a report and make a presentation on how they had applied the knowledge in the project.

You are required to complete 2 post-diploma certificates within 2-year validity period to be awarded the Specialist Diploma qualification.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)_x000D_
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
