The newly identified novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has created alarm and caused global concern because of its similarity to SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). Infection control is an important and integral part in healthcare. With care increasingly delivered in intermediate and long term setting (ILTC), residents and health care professionals may potentially be exposed to the infection through inadequate infection control and prevention practices (Ministry of Health Singapore).
