Course Information

Singaporeans are turning to a myriad of complementary therapies and tend to approach pharmacists who are primary community healthcare providers for advice. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda remain the most ancient yet living traditional medicines.

This course aims to equip its participants with an understanding of how these integrative medicine make for a holistic health approach and to shed light on these therapies.

Other commonly used complimentary therapies such as supplements and herbal botanicals will also be covered during this session with a focus on studies done on these therapies and their place in today’s patient care.

Learning Outcomes

Course participants will gain a deeper appreciation of how complementary medicines work and make recommendations to patients seeking alternative treatments or medications.

  • Four basic diagnostic methods which TCM practitioners use in the treatment of diseases

  • Pharmacological properties of Chinese herbs used in TCM & Application in clinical practice

  • The principles of Ayurvedic medicine
  • _x000D_

  • Key features, benefits, clinical use of such therapies of Ayurvedic medicine
  • _x000D_

Certification

A Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who achieve at least 75% attendance and pass all required assessment(s).
